All employees contribute to the pension plan. If your total time employed by the public service is less than 2 years, you will be entitled to a return of your contributions, plus interest. Should you be employed for more than 2 years, your contributions will be locked in and you will be eligible for a pension (including a contribution from the employer) when you retire.
