*Those who would prefer not to pay the parking fees for The Rooms can park at Sobeys. The manager there said we can park along Merrymeeting Rd at the bottom of their lot.  

**Please note that any travel costs incurred for attending this event would be the responsibility of the participant’s organization


Language

This event will be offered in English.

To note that the events will not include simultaneous translation services. Participants will be able to submit their questions in the language of their choice and a moderator will help with translation if needed.

Moderators and Speakers Bios

Camille Beausoleil, a/Executive Director, National Managers’ Community (NMC), Canada School of Public Service

In May 2023, Camille was appointed as Executive Director, National Managers Community (NMC), where she will work to promote the needs and interests of federal managers to public service decision-makers. Prior to this, Camille was Assistant Director, Learning and Product Development Team within the Respectful and Inclusive Workplaces Directorate at the Canada School of Public Service. She has been with the School since 2018, having worked in various positions both operational, in Curriculum Management as part of the Registrar’s Office, and more strategic, as Chief of Staff to the Vice-president of the Public Sector Operations and Inclusion Branch.

Camille joined the federal public service in 2008, having previously worked at the Department of Canadian Heritage and the National Capital Commission, in a number of management and project management roles. Camille holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, as well as professional certification in HR Management and lives in the National Capital Region.

Daphnée Michaud, Director General of the Public Service Pay Centre & NMC Atlantic Champion

Daphnée Michaud has been the Director General of the Public Service Pay Centre since August 2016. She took over the role of the NMC Atlantic Champion in December 2022, where she gives advice and promotes the interests of the NMC in any way she can. Daphnée is an avid supporter of the Managers’ Community and was very active as co-chair of the PSPC Managers’ Community from 2004 to 2007.

Dr. Alyson Byrne, Associate professor in organizational behaviour and human resource management, Faculty of Business Administration, Memorial University

Dr. Alyson Byrne received her PhD in organizational behaviour from Queen’s University in 2013. Prior to arriving at Memorial, Dr. Byrne also worked at the University of Manitoba and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in leadership at the Ivey Business School at Western University.

Dr. Byrne’s research interests lie primarily in leadership, status, gender and relational outcomes.  She has been published in journals such as Organization Science, Journal of Management Studies, Harvard Business Review (online edition) and The Leadership Quarterly. She has presented her research at numerous international conferences and has also been the keynote speaker for a number of public events concerning her research on leadership, gender, teams, and well-being.

Sheila O-Neill, member of Qalipu Mi’Kmaq First Nation & Traditional Knowledge Keeper

Sheila O’Neill (she/her/ngem) is from Western Newfoundland and is a member of Qalipu Mi’Kmaq First Nation. Sheila is a mother, a grandmother, and an author, and has a solid background in Indigenous issues and post-secondary education. Sheila is honored to hold the role of Traditional Knowledge Keeper, and carries many teachings passed down by respected Elders. She is currently employed as Coordinator of Indigenous Research and Training with an Indigenous-led consulting firm in St. John’s.
