Celebrating Our Achievements!

As the year comes to a close, we often reflect on the accomplishments that have shaped our success. We are truly grateful to each of you, as well as our partners, for your ongoing support and collaboration.

The NMC is proud to have supported the wellness and growth of managers and aspiring managers across the GC by delivering over 30 in-person and virtual events. These events saw incredible participation and positive feedback, strengthening managers’ relationships and leadership skills. Additionally, this year, the NMC reached over 11,000 members, a strong indication of the value of our community.

Thank you for your dedication, and we look forward to offering more activities tailored to the evolving needs of managers in 2025!

On behalf of the NMC Team, we wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a happy New Year.

Creating Safer Spaces: Practical Steps for Supporting Trans and Gender Diverse Employees

Back by popular demand following the success of our November 21 session!

Join the Public Service Pride Network (PSPN) and the National Managers’ Community (NMC) for an engaging bilingual event focused on supporting Two-Spirit, transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse employees.

This session will spotlight the Manager’s Guide to Supporting Two-Spirit, Transgender, Non-Binary, and Gender-Diverse Employees in the Federal Public Service.

Through interactive discussions, we’ll explore key themes such as: chosen names in the workplace, addressing resistance around access to washrooms, and supporting employees who come out in stages. Each scenario will be followed by a Q&A session, offering participants a chance to ask questions, share insights, and learn practical ways to create inclusive work environments.

Developed by the PSPN’s Gender Identity and Expression (GEI) Action Committee, the guide provides valuable insights and highlights the critical role managers play in fostering inclusivity in the Public Service.

Change Management in Practice: Putting People First

Change is a part of life. It’s constant, whether it’s in your personal life or at work. But even though we all know it’s inevitable, managing change—especially in a workplace—can be one of the toughest challenges. Whether it’s rolling out new tech, shifting company culture, or changing strategies, change can make employees feel uneasy. A lot of companies focus on the technical side of things—processes, tools, and timelines—but what really makes change stick is how you manage the people going through it.

Save the Date for next Managers Connect Event in NCR

Save the date Wednesday, February 12, for the next Managers Connect in-person event in the NCR in the new year. Programming includes a dynamic, practical workshop on navigating generational differences in the workplace. One of the biggest challenges leaders face is how to respond effectively to generational change. This means understanding the characteristics and needs of each generational group (e.g. Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials and Generation Z) to better support and get the best out of our team members.

Make sure you’re on the interested in participating list and we’ll send you an email when registration opens in early January!
