Usage Table

The table below details the extent to which different organisations across the Government of Canada are engaged with different CDS Offerings. For more information on the source of these data, see the “About the Data” tab. The cells in the table below are defined as follows:

  • GC Forms indicates the number of published forms with at least eight submissions.
  • GC Notify indicates the number of notification services that have one or more services that are “non-test” and “live” which have sent a notification.
  • GC Design System indicates number of live services we’re aware of which use GC Design System, or a derivative design system.
  • GC Issue and Verify indicates if the EDCP team is collaborating or meeting with a group within an organisation on GC I&V.
  • GCKey indicates the number of services that are using GC Key for authentication within an organisation.
  • Interac sign-in service indicates the number of services using Interac sign-in service for authentication within an organisation.
  • CanadaLogin indicates if Digital Credentials is collaborating or meeting with a group within an organisation on CanadaLogin.
  • GCCF Consolidator indicates the number of services using GCCF Consolidator for authentication within an organisation.
  • UX Expert Review indicates whether a department has engaged the services of the BES UX Expert Review team.
  • Bespoke Engagement indicates whether a department has collaborated with BES outside of UX Expert Reviews.

By How We Work Together

Levels of involvement

  • The “involvement” or “seriousness” of CDS Interactions with outside parties are rated on an ordinal scale, from least to most serious.
  • An inquiry is where an outside group contacts a BU to see if there’s a potential partnership (or vice versa). It is the “least involved” type of interaction and does not reach the level of “working with” CDS but is recorded in case future reporting needs change.
  • A meeting is where CDSers meet with the outside group to discuss a potential collaboration, but there’s no working relationship yet.
  • Using a product or a service is where an outside group is actively using a product or a service, typically through self service potentially with some level of support. For example, a group using GC Design System on their website.
  • An ongoing collaboration is the “most involved” type of interaction, where the outside group is actively working with a group at CDS to develop something, and CDS is directly providing labour and/or resources to aid the outside group.
  • For situations where there are multiple interactions with a group, the level of interaction is reported as the “stronger” interaction that has happened. For example, if a group has sent inquiries, had meetings, and is now actively using CanadaLogin, this is reported as “Using a product or service”.

  • Instances where the partner organisation is listed as CDS are excluded from this data set and subsequent analysis.
  • Where data was not provided in the template provided, or where it did not include documentation, interpretations, inferences, and assumptions made are noted below.

BES Services

  • Data is derived from a spreadsheet sent by Ashley Belanger, July 7, 2026.
  • The Services Team used the provided template, so data is imported as-is.

Legacy Credentials Products (Interac sign-in service, GCCF Consolidator, GCKey)

  • The legacy credentials data is based on a CSV emailed by Colin Douglas on May 15, 2026.
  • The “volume” figures correspond to the number of authentications per department in May of 2026.
  • The ”RP URL” in the CSV was transcribed as the “engagement identifier”. It is assumed to represent a unique identifier for each relying party authentication service.

CanadaLogin

  • CanadaLogin data is derived from a combination of spreadsheets sent by Colin Douglas on July 6, 2026 using the provided template, so data is imported as-is. As well as a spreadsheet provided by Daniela Testolini on July 13, 2026.
  • The “Level of Interaction” reported for a CanadaLogin partnership is listed as highest of all of the interactions CanadaLogin has had with the partnership.
  • Only groups that have interacted with CanadaLogin within the last year are listed in the data set.

GC Issue and Verify

  • Data is derived from a spreadsheet sent by Lisa Nandoo on June 29, 2026.
  • The GCI&V Team used the provided template, so data is imported as-is.

GC Design System

GC Notify

  • GC Notify data is exported from the Platform BI & Reporting Dashboard on July 7, 2026.
  • The date filter on the dashboard was set to retain only entries dated July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026 inclusive.
