Public Service Pride Week (PSPW) – The Official Program
This year’s PSPW is from August 21 to 25 and promises to be a truly remarkable celebration under the theme of “Taking Action to Create A more Inclusive Public Service.” The weeks programs aims to go beyond words and focus on the actions required to foster a truly inclusive and diverse environment within our Federal Public Service!
The Canada School of Public Service, which has been instrumental in this year’s Pride Week, will host one main event per day including Intersectionality and Allyship offered in collaboration with the National Managers’ Community.
In addition to these events, other federal organizations will host independently organized events that will be open to all public servants. For all events information and registration instructions, please visit www.publicservicepride.ca.

The Agile way of thinking seeks to harness the power of teams in support of our highest priority – satisfying our clients – through the rapid and continuous delivery of high-value solutions. Hybrid Workplace Series: Overcoming Proximity Bias
Hybrid work has increased the risk of proximity bias, which is the unconscious tendency to treat employees who are physically closer more favourably. This sixth event in the CSPS series features Natasha Bowman, known as “the Workplace Doctor,” who will take a deep dive into proximity bias, including how she has helped countless teams to overcome it.

GC Cloud learning path for managers
Did you know that you play an important role in your organization’s cloud adoption journey? All managers, executives and senior leaders in the GC need to have enough of an understanding of the cloud to be able to conduct impactful conversations with their teams about its potential and how it applies to their organization.
Sign up to complete the Canada School of Public Service’s GC Cloud for Managers and Executives learning path. CSPS will send you gentle nudges to remind you to continue your GC Cloud learning journey, so that you can be GC cloud savvy by end of summer.
New pools from the Public Service Commission are now available
The Public Service Commission (PSC) is delighted to announce that 2 new pools are available:
- EC-04 (or Equivalent) – Policy Analyst Emerging Talent Pool
- BI-02 (or equivalent) – Careers in Biology for Persons with Disabilities
Check the recruitment options for managers web page for the request form, where you will also find other inventories and pools to staff various positions. These pools are also a great resource to support departments in meeting recruitment goals as identified in the Clerk’s Call to Action on Anti-Racism, Equity, and Inclusion in the Federal Public Service.
Act quickly before these skilled and diverse candidates are hired elsewhere!
Departmental progress of the Many Voices One Mind: A Pathway to Reconciliation (MVOM)
The Summary Report of Departmental Progress Scorecard Findings summarize the implementation of the MVOM Action Plan and highlights the accomplishment and promising practices reported by departments and agencies. This report also shines a light on the areas that require additional focus and efforts moving forward.

End of second language evaluation (SLE) temporary measure 3
A Letter to Heads of Human Resources has been published announcing that the temporary measure 3 allowing departments and agencies to use an alternative method to assess the language skills (oral proficiency, reading comprehension and writing expression) will be amended on September 1, 2023, to remove the use of alternative methods for the assessment of reading comprehension and written expression.
Second Language Training Colossal resources
To help public servants learn, improve, and maintain their second official language, the Atlantic Interdepartmental Community of Practice: Language Training (AICPLT) is sharing these Second Language Training Colossal resources.
These resources were recently published on the AICPLT GcCollab site and are added on the NMC website resources for managers section.
