Our vision for digital transformation is putting people first. PSPC services should be designed with and for the people that use them to meet their needs. This sounds simple but in reality, it means changing our behaviours and how we work.

It means fully understanding what people need before we leverage the latest technology to modernize, streamline and improve our services.

Aligning with Canada’s Digital Ambition

PSPC is aligning its transformation efforts with Canada’s Digital Ambition, a forward-looking 3-year strategic plan for all of government that puts the people using GC services front and centre.

Digital Ambition Vision:

The GC is an open and service-oriented organization that operates and delivers programs and services to people and businesses in simple, modern and effective ways that are optimized for digital and available anytime, anywhere and from any device.

“A digital government puts people and their needs first.

It is:

  • accountable to its citizens and shares information with them
  • involves them when making policies and designing services
  • values inclusion and accessibility
  • designs services for the people who need them, not for the organizations that deliver them”

Building on our progress

We still have much to do, and to help us on our journey we have:

  • Created the Digital Innovation Network, a place where teams can come together to experiment, innovate, work with users and improve the services they deliver. We’ve helped over 60 PSPC teams so far.
  • Identified Digital Co-Champions in PSPC branches and regions to help instill new ways of working to deliver user-focused services.
  • Developed a change management strategy to guide the culture shift for digital transformation and help instill a digital mindset.
