By showcasing a sampling of departments, the Federal Youth Network and its partners will guide you on your public service journey.

Looking for Mentors!

Mentorship is your opportunity to connect with next generation of the public service. We are looking for your help as an experienced manager to help.

The British Columbia Federal Council Student Mentorship Program will allow you to connect with a student with a passion for the work you do. We aim to engage students in a substantive conversation on career advice and employment, generate student interest in future work with the public service and provide them with a broader understanding of our goals. As a mentor, you’ll provide students with a safe space to be candid, offering a unique perspective outside of a managerial relationship.

Space is limited, so please join the BC Federal Network Program by emailing Alida.Rahemtulla@ised-isde.gc.ca as soon as possible.

Join the Exclusive New Public Servant Network Event

Virtual Spaces Limited!

The Federal Youth Network (FYN) and Apolitical are spearheading an initiative for new public servants to build your network.

Introducing the “New Public Servant Network Event – Igniting the Future of the Public Service”May 24th 12pm -1pm EDT

This isn’t a call for just anyone. We’re looking for pioneers; for the new public servants eager to mold an online community from the ground up. Only a small number of exclusive spots are available for this pioneering group. Register HERE  by Friday May 3 if you think you have what it takes.

Imagine being sorted into a virtual house (yes, think Harry Potter), each consisting with a small number of your peers, a dedicated FYN representative as your house captain, and a senior public servant advisor to guide you. Your challenge? Collaborate with your house to brainstorm how this community could revolutionize support for new public servants. But here’s the twist – it’s also a competition. Over 2 months, outshine the other houses, and win an exclusive mentorship session with a GC leader, courtesy of the house prize.

Why Should You Apply?

  • Network Building: Forge invaluable connections and gain insights from senior leaders.
  • Leadership: Showcase your potential as a trailblazer in the public service sphere.
  • Legacy: Contribute to a lasting resource that aids public servants locally and globally.
  • Fun and Memories: Enjoy the journey, make lasting friendships, and create unforgettable memories.

Ready to Make Your Mark?

We’re on the lookout for driven individuals ready to shape the future of public service. If you’re ready to step up, please fill out this form by Friday May 3, 2024.

This is more than an event; it’s your stepping stone to making a significant impact, gaining recognition, and being part of something bigger.
